Primary rhinoplasty is the operation of the nose that is designed to change or reshape the nose and is the first operation ever performed on that nose for the same reason. The term secondary rhinoplasty denotes to an operation done second time on the same nose as many individuals desire further changes to their nose. Primary rhinoplasty generally has the goal of improving the aesthetic appearance of the nose.
The Primary rhinoplasty operation is performed by altering the bone and cartilages that makes up the core structure of the nose after elevating the skin from the underlying structures and then the skin is then put back down on to the underlying structures.
This just refers to the fact that the procedure is the first Rhinoplasty a patient has had. Any subsequent Rhinoplasty procedure would be considered a revision, which tends to be more complicated depending on the qulaity and extent of the first procedure.
Rhinoplasty (commonly referrd to a “nose job”) is a plastic surgery procedure that involves reshaping the nose. It can be either a cosmetic procedure performed to improve the appearance of the nose, a medically necessary procedure to improve nasal breathing, or a combination of both. Dr. Sriprakash is a Rhinoplasty Specialist that offers all types of nose surgery at the Dallas Rhinoplasty Center. Primary rhinoplasty refers to first-time nasal surgery, whether for cosmetic or functional purposes, as opposed to secondary (revision) rhinoplasty, which indicates the patient has had one or more previous rhinoplasty surgeries.
Primary rhinoplasty is accomplished by removing excess bone and cartilage from beneath the skin covering the nose. In some cases, cartilage grafts are added to help remodel the nasal framework. After alteration of the supporting structures, the skin is repositioned over the newly shaped framework to give the nose its new appearance. The changes may be subtle or dramatic, depending on the needs of the patient.
He offers the most up-to-date and cutting-edge techniques in rhinoplasty and has pioneered many new rhinoplasty techniques. His contributions to the field have significantly enhanced both primary and secondary rhinoplasty.
Our Goals for Primary Rhinoplasty
Dr.Sriprakash surgical goal is to produce a nose that looks natural, functions properly, and is in balance and harmony with other facial features. The “operated look” is thereby avoided. The Rhinoplasty Center offers 3D Rhinoplasty Simulation using the Vectra 3D Imaging System to simulate the proposed before and after results of rhinoplasty surgery. While each primary rhinoplasty patient’s wishes are always central to what we do, there are limiting factors. Skin texture and thickness, previous injuries or nasal surgeries, individual variations in healing, and facial proportion and contour play important roles in what can, and should, be achieved with a nose job. These and other factors will be fully discussed during your consultation.
Internet Consultations
For your convenience, you may choose to complete an Internet Consultation to determine your eligibility for nasal surgery before you visit our office. This optional online rhinoplasty consultation helps our doctor assess whether you are a good surgical candidate, the degree to which they can ultimately address your individual situation, or can save you a trip to Dallas if you are not a good candidate for rhinoplasty.
